VOOI Light provides a next-generation trading experience through a Chain Abstraction layer, enabling interaction with DeFi protocols across multiple blockchains. Users initiate all actions and retain full control over their assets and private keys.

This guide outlines the basic workflow for using VOOI Light.

Overview of Workflow:

  1. Log in to VOOI Light

  2. Connect other login options (this step is optional but highly recommended)

  3. Add funds

  4. Start trading

  5. Manage your funds through VOOI Light portfolio interface

Workflow

1. Log In to VOOI Light

Open VOOI Light (the beta version) at https://app.vooi.io/, click Log In, and choose the authentication method that works best for you from the available options:

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the login process.

When you log in to VOOI Light for the first time, a unique smart-contract wallet address is created for you. Only you can access and control assets on this address across supported blockchain networks. VOOI never has access to your funds or private keys.

2. Connect Other Login Options (Linked Accounts)

By linking accounts, you add alternative login options to your VOOI Light account. This ensures that even if you lose access to the email you used to register or your passkey is lost, you’ll still be able to log in.

Important: We strongly recommend connecting at least one additional login method for account recovery.

To connect a login option:

  1. After logging in, click your account balance in the top right corner and then click the Linked Account icon:

  2. In the Linked Accounts section, press the Connect button next to your preferred login method (Passkey, Google, Telegram, etc.). Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection process.

  3. Repeat the process if you'd like to add more login options.

3. Add Funds

Each VOOI Light account is associated with a unique EVM smart-contract wallet address and with a unique Solana smart-contract wallet address. When you send tokens to one of this addresses on a supported blockchain, they are reflected in your total equity balance within the app interface:

  • If you send USDT or USDC, the funds will automatically be available in your unified trading balance.

  • If you send any other token on a supported network, it will appear under your asset balance.

These balances visually represent the tokens held at your wallet address on supported blockchains. All operations — including trading and fund transfers — are initiated by you and remain fully under your control.

For more details about how balances work, see VOOI_LIGHT:operationalGuidelines

Important note 1: If you’re depositing funds for the first time, we recommend using USDT or USDC, as these tokens are also used to settle transaction fees for trading and asset management.

Important note 2: A portion of your deposited funds, equivalent to 10 USD, is reserved to cover transaction fees for your operations. This amount remains fully withdrawable at any time.

Once your balance is topped up, you can trade and move funds without directly paying gas fees — all actions are processed through your smart-contract wallet.

Steps to top up your account balance:

  1. After logging in, click Deposit:

  2. >> If you logged in with a wallet and want to top up your balance from the connected wallet, select the Wallet option. >> If you logged in using another method or want to send from a different wallet, select Receive Funds.

  3. When you choose Receive Funds, you’ll see the unique smart-contract wallet address associated with your VOOI Light account. Copy or scan this address to send tokens on any supported blockchain:

  4. Once the transaction is signed, broadcast, and confirmed on-chain, the VOOI Light interface reflects this automatically:

Important: A portion of your deposited funds, equivalent to 10 USD, is reserved to cover transaction fees for your operations. This amount remains fully withdrawable at any time.

4. Trade

VOOI Light beta currently supports trading on the perpetual KiloEx, GMX and Ostium, with more integrations coming soon.

⚠️ Features shown as greyed out in the VOOI Light terminal will become available shortly.

Choosing Chart Type

Before you start trading, you may want to customize how price data is displayed. To change the chart type, click the chart style icon: Then select your preferred option:

  • Candles (default) – the most common format, showing open, high, low, and close (OHLC)

  • Bars, HLC Bars, Hollow Candles – alternative OHLC visualizations

  • Line, Step Line, Line with markers – simplified representations of price trends

  • Area, HLC Area, Baseline – useful for quick visual comparisons

Adjusting the chart type helps align the view with your trading style and analytical needs.

Trading Workflow:

  1. Select a trading pair from the list on the left side of the terminal. For example, BTC/USD:

  2. Set your position parameters on the right panel:

  3. (1) Choose Long or Short (2) Check the current amount available for trading; if needed, deposit more (3) Select Leverage (4) Specify Position Size (5) Request Quotes

  4. You’ll receive quotes from all supported protocols that can fill your order size. For example, you may see offers from KiloEx on Base and BNB Chain. If the requested size is too small for a certain venue (e.g., Ostium on Arbitrum), it may not return a quote.

  5. The best offer is preselected by default. You can either leave it or select another quote from the list. Then, click Open to place your order:

  6. You can view your open positions in the Positions tab of the trading terminal:

  7. To close a position, click Close next to the position. Then, specify the closing parameters on the next screen and confirm the operation:

  8. Your trade history is available in the History tab:

Flow of Assets when Trading

Make sure to get familiar with your Portfolio — a unified view and control center for your funds: VOOI_LIGHT:operationalGuidelines

Your unified trading balance includes assets supported for trading (USDT/USDC) held across supported networks and is used automatically for opening and closing positions, covering trading fees, and gas.

Example USDC on Base + USDT on BNB = a single balance available for trading on any supported chain:

  1. The account was initially funded with USDC on Base:

  2. A position was then opened on BNB Chain.

  3. When the position was closed, the funds were sent to your address on BNB Chain and reflected in your unified trading balance:

5. Portfolio (Fund Management)

Portfolio is a unified view and control center for your funds. It shows your balances, asset distribution, trading allocations, stocks, points and provides key actions like deposit, send, or swap — all in one place.

After logging in, click Portfolio in the top right corner to open it:

(1) Total Equity

This is your total account value in USD — including funds available for trading (available margin), funds currently in use as margin, funds allocated to cover gas fees and idle assets. It reflects all supported tokens across chains, based on current market prices.

(2) Unified Trading

This is your trading balance — the portion of your total equity available for trading, managing positions, and covering gas fees. It includes supported assets (USDT and USDC) across all supported networks and is automatically used when opening or closing positions.

The Unified Balance is divided into:

  • Available Margin The amount currently free and available for opening new positions.

  • Fee Reserve A portion of deposited funds, equivalent to 10 USD, is reserved and used to pay gas fees for trading operations and fund management, including swaps and fund transfers. This amount remains fully withdrawable at any time.

  • Margin-in-Use Funds currently locked in open positions. These become available again when positions are closed. To review open positions and their PnL, click the Merging-in-Use. You will then be redirected to the Trading Terminal. Under the Positions tab, you can review open positions.

Notes:

  • NB 1 See the breakdown by token and network in the Unified Trading tab below.

  • NB 2 Assets that cannot be used for trading (e.g., BNB, ETH, etc.) are not included in this balance. These assets can be reviewed under the Crypto tab below: To use these assets for trading, simply swap them into USDC or USDT. It can be done within your VOOI Light account in the Swap section.

(3) Quick Actions

Shortcuts to manage your funds:

  • Deposit: Add funds to your VOOI Light account

  • Send: Send tokens from your VOOI Light account

  • Swap: Swap between supported tokens and networks within your VOOI Light account

(4) Statistics

The Statistics section displays your trading metrics: volumes and PnL for derivatives, as well as swap activity (all swaps, cross-chain, and on-chain) over 24h and in total.

Rebalancing

In some cases, to open a position or execute an order, it is necessary to aggregate tokens on the execution network.

If you see the message: Rebalancing required: aggregate tokens on the execution network, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Portfolio.

  2. Expand USDT token for KiloEx and USDC token for any other perpetual DEX or trading platform.

  3. Enable the Show All checkbox to display tokens on all networks and click Aggregate next to the network where you want to execute the trade:

This will consolidate your tokens on that network, allowing you to complete the action without interruptions.
