VOOI Light provides a next-generation trading experience on top of a Chain Abstraction layer.

This guide outlines the basic workflow for using VOOI Light.

Overview of Workflow:

  1. Log in to VOOI Light

  2. Top up your balance

  3. Start trading

  4. Manage your funds within VOOI Light portfolio

Workflow

1. Log In to VOOI Light

Open VOOI Light (the beta version) at https://beta.vooi.io/, click Log In, and choose the authentication method that works best for you from the available options:

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the login process.

If you’re logging in for the first time, a new account will be created automatically.

2. Top Up Your Balance

Before explaining how to top up your balance, let’s first understand where your assets are being sent.

Each VOOI Light account has a unique address. When you send tokens to this address on any supported chain, they will be reflected in your account’s total equity balance:

  • If you send USDT or USDC, the funds will be automatically added to your unified trading balance and become available for trading.

  • If you send any other token, it will appear under your asset balance.

Important: If you’re topping up your balance for the first time, we recommend sending USDT or USDC, as these tokens are also used to cover gas fees for trading and asset management within your VOOI Light account.

Once your tokens are in the account balance, all other operations — including cross-chain trading and withdrawals — are gasless for you.

For more details about how balances work, see VOOI_light_beta:operationalGuidelines

Steps to top up your account balance:

  1. After logging in, click Deposit:

  2. >> If you logged in with a wallet and want to top up your balance from the connected wallet, select the Wallet option. >> If you logged in using another method or want to send from a different wallet, select Receive Funds.

  3. When you choose Receive Funds, you’ll see your unique VOOI Light address. Copy or scan this address and send tokens on any supported chain:

  4. Once the transaction is signed, sent, and confirmed on-chain, your total equity balance will update automatically:

3. Trade

VOOI Light beta currently supports trading on the perpetual KiloEx, GMX and Ostium, with more integrations coming soon.

⚠️ Features shown as greyed out in the VOOI Light terminal will become available shortly.

Choosing Chart Type

Before you start trading, you may want to customize how price data is displayed. To change the chart type, click the chart style icon: Then select your preferred option:

  • Candles (default) – the most common format, showing open, high, low, and close (OHLC)

  • Bars, HLC Bars, Hollow Candles – alternative OHLC visualizations

  • Line, Step Line, Line with markers – simplified representations of price trends

  • Area, HLC Area, Baseline – useful for quick visual comparisons

Adjusting the chart type helps align the view with your trading style and analytical needs.

Trading Workflow:

  1. Select a trading pair from the list on the left side of the terminal. For example, BTC/USD:

  2. Set your position parameters on the right panel:

  3. (1) Choose Long or Short (2) Check the current amount available for trading; if needed, deposit more (3) Select Leverage (4) Specify Position Size (5) Request Quotes

  4. You’ll receive quotes from all supported protocols that can fill your order size. For example, you may see offers from KiloEx on Base and BNB Chain. If the requested size is too small for a certain venue (e.g., Ostium on Arbitrum), it may not return a quote.

  5. The best offer is preselected by default. You can either leave it or select another quote from the list. Then, click Open to place your order:

  6. You can view your open positions in the Positions tab of the trading terminal:

  7. To close a position, click Close next to the position. Then, specify the closing parameters on the next screen and confirm the operation:

  8. Your trade history is available in the History tab:

Flow of Assets when Trading

Make sure to get familiar with your Portfolio — a unified view and control center for your funds: VOOI_light_beta:operationalGuidelines

Your unified trading balance includes assets supported for trading (USDT/USDC) held across supported networks and is used automatically for opening and closing positions, covering trading fees, and gas.

Example USDC on Base + USDT on BNB = a single balance available for trading on any supported chain:

  1. The account was initially funded with USDC on Base:

  2. A position was then opened on BNB Chain.

  3. When the position was closed, the funds were sent to your address on BNB Chain and reflected in your unified trading balance:

4. Portfolio (Fund Management)

Portfolio is a unified view and control center for your funds. It shows your balances, asset distribution, trading allocations, and provides key actions like deposit, send, or swap — all in one place.

After logging in, click Portfolio in the top right corner to open it:

(1) Total Equity

This is your total account value in USD — including funds available for trading (available margin, funds currently in use as margin, funds allocated to cover gas fees and idle assets. It reflects all supported tokens across chains, based on current market prices.

  • NB See the breakdown by token and network in the Equity tab below.

(2) Unified Balance

This is your trading balance — the portion of your total equity available for trading, managing positions, and covering gas fees. It includes supported assets (USDT and USDC) across all supported networks and is automatically used when opening or closing positions.

The Unified Balance is divided into:

  • Available Margin: The amount currently free and available for opening new positions.

  • Gas Allocation: A portion of the balance automatically reserved and used to pay gas fees for trading operations and fund management, including swaps and fund transfers.

  • Margin-in-Use: Funds currently locked in open positions. These become available again when positions are closed. To review open positions and their PnL, go to the Trading Terminal and check the Positions tab

Notes:

  • NB 1 See the breakdown by token and network in the Unified Balance tab below.

  • NB 2 Assets that cannot be used for trading (e.g., BNB) are not included in this balance. To use such assets for trading, you need to swap them into USDC or USDT.

(3) Assets

This includes funds that are not supported for trading like BNB. These can be deposited, sent, or swapped.

  • NB See the breakdown by token and network in the Assets tab below.

(4) Quick Actions

Shortcuts to manage your funds:

  • Deposit: Add funds to your account from an external wallet
